2 Month Appointment
On Friday, October 1st, Jaxon had his two month appointment. He is 12 lbs 13 ounces and 24 inches long. Overall, the appointment went really well - Jaxon is very healthy. I asked the doctor a lot about feeding because...this...kid...eats! He has been downing around 4-5 ounces (sometimes 6) every 2-3 hours lately. He thought he may be going through a growth spurt. I have noticed it has started to taper back off since the appointment. So, we'll see. He also received several vaccines at the appointment. Man, those nurses love to just jab those needles in little babies. The minute she stuck him (one in each thigh), his eyes bugged out, he turned bright red and whaled so loudly. I felt so bad for the kiddo, but also couldn't help but find his cry kind of cute and funny (is that bad?). He's even cute when he cries, I thought to myself. And then...he crashed. For pretty much the rest of the day/evening. Geez, if that's all I had to do to get him to sleep throught the night, why didn't anyone tell me this before (just kidding!).
These days, Jaxon is smiling so much more. It is fun to see a reaction from him after all of our silly attempts at making goofy faces, singing songs that we can't remember the words to (so we just make them up as we go - he won't know, right?) and talking baby talk to him. He's a very happy baby too and is so good. Sure, he cries every now and then, but for the most part, he's pretty good and we feel very blessed.
Also, with the Similac Advance powder recall (Jaxon eats the ready-to-feed liquid) we have been searching everywhere for the ready-to-feed because those who used the powder are now buying the liquid, so there's basically nothing left in the stores. So...if you see any, let us know! We had to go to three places before we found "a" bottle. Crazy...
Here are a couple pictures of Jaxon playing the other day on the floor while mommy (me) played Japanese tourist. The third picture is a photo I took of him after I was doing the "bicycle" with his legs and he fell asleep to that.
