4 Months Old!
Hello everyone,
Gosh, it's been so long since we've posted a new blog or any photos/videos. It's been so busy lately, especially as we enter the holiday season. Jaxon had his 4 month appointment on December 1st and weighed 15 lbs 13 ounces. He then got very sick with diarrhea, cough, congestion and plugged sinuses, so he lost about 7 ounces through that ordeal, which took us back and forth to the pediatrician a lot. I even ended up staying home from a trip I was supposed to take to San Francisco, but it was totally worth it to take care of my baby! But, he is now on the mend and back up to his 4 month weight and doing really well.
Jaxon is cooing a lot more these days, having conversations with himself and us. It's pretty funny to watch. He is a very happy baby, smiling all the time, and is sleeping really well through the night again (finally). He usually wakes up around 5am for a feeding and then we put him back to bed for a couple of hours. He is really into small hand toys that crinkle, make noise or light up. Everything goes into his mouth these days, from burp cloths and toys, to his storybooks our fingers. He loves to munch on his hands and is drooling a ton, so I think he's starting to teeth even though he probably won't push out a tooth for a couple of months.
Some exciting things we started this month included starting Jaxon on rice cereal in the evenings. Below is a video we recorded of his first time being spoon-fed rice cereal mixed with formula this week. The expression on his face cracked me up, and while I don't think he quite grasped the concept of "open mouth, insert and swallow food" I think he was finally starting to understand how to eat grown-up food by the end of our "session." I probably could've done a better job of cleaning him up at first (so please dont' judge)...but it was just too cute. I am really looking forward to having a high chair in the house so we can feed him in there versus the bouncer which we are improvising with.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Stay warm.
Here are some new pictures of Jaxon as well.
Love,
Beth and Kyle
