Happy 1 Year Birthday Jaxon!
(See video below.)
We can't believe it has been one year since we were rushing off to the hospital and welcoming our sweet baby boy into this world! My, how time flies...Jaxon is now 24.4 lbs and cruising around the coffee table all by himself (that is, holding onto the coffee table however).
On the morning of August 1st, we woke up Jaxon with the infamous "happy birthday to you" song and he greeted us with a smile. He wore his "I'm the birthday boy" t-shirt to daycare, and apparently the kids at daycare sang "Happy Birthday" to Jaxon 18 times! Kids are funny. In the evening, Kyle and I celebrated Jaxon's birthday in the comfort of our home. We fixed a nice dinner - tilapia, green beans and mashed potatoes - which Jaxon ate as well (for only having four teeth, he's been doing pretty good chowin' down). Then, we served him up a yummy vanilla cupcake with frosting and blue sprinkles. He wasn't quite sure what to think at first - about the candle or this fluffy white stuff in front of him. After a couple finger bites, he decided he liked it and nearly face-planted his mouth into the cupcake. It was pretty funny. Then, we opened a couple of gifts from "mom and dad." Jay and Carie stopped by with a gift for Jaxon before Carie took off for Texas - it was nice to spend some time with them and I think Jaxon liked it as well.
On Saturday, August 6th, we celebrated his first birthday together with family and friends at our place. It was so fun to see everyone! Jaxon had a lot of fun, but we were all pretty pooped by the end of the day. Check out the video collage below for a recap! (I had originally made this video with some popular tunes, but because of copyright laws I had to make some changes. I hope you enjoy this video!)
I hope Jaxon enjoyed his first of many more birthdays to come! Happy birthday my baby boy. We love you always.
Love, mom and dad
