Back to birth weight!

Kyle, Jaxon and I visited Dr. Jason Davis, Jaxon's pediatrician, today for his first check-up since he was born. Jaxon is 8 days old today and he is already weighing close to his birth weight again - 6 lbs 2.5 oz today! He had dropped to 5 lbs 13 oz, but is back up now. He has also grown 1.25" in a week - he is 19.75" long now (born at 18.5") When we arrived at the doctor's office they had us remove his clothing, diaper included, to weigh him. Suddenly there was a fountain of pee spraying all over the doctor's room, this way and that. Kyle and I jumped about 40 feet back. The nurse laughed at us as we scurried for a wipe to cover up the source. Then, we grabbed three more wipes to wipe down the table he was lying on, the walls around him, and both of our shirts. Jaxon didn't seem to mind, he just looked around the room, wide-eyed, and I think he had a proud smirk on his face too. It was hilarious.

Overall, the check up was great! We got our questions answered and learned some new things as well. Jaxon has a slight diaper rash, but everything else looks good.

We only had to wake up twice last night with Jaxon. He is such a good sleeper! It was nice to finally catch-up on some of that ourselves.
