Doctor says "One more day."

That seems to be a phrase I hear often these days, "just one more day Mr. and Mrs. Bruss and then Jaxon should be able to come home." I wish they would've just said from the get-go, "He'll be here for about a week most likely." Because Jaxon's jaundice was on the rise again, we kept him overnight Friday night in the NICU again to see if through heavier and more frequent feedings, he would "poop the jaundice out of him" - that was the technical term the doctor told us. So, we'll find out this morning sometime if we get to take the little guy home today finally, or if it will be "just one more day."

Friday was a big day for little Jaxon as he was circumsized - ouch! Mom got to watch the whole thing too. Probably not the best idea, but he got through it very well. We love our pediatrics doctor, Dr. Jason Davis with Lincoln Pediatrics Group. He's funny and sarcastic, down to earth and tells you how it is. He's great with Jaxon and is wonderful all around! And as a bonus souvenir, we get to keep the torcher device used during Jaxon's circumcision. Dr. Davis said we should put it in our scrapbook (note the sarcasm) - not likely.

Also on Friday, Jaxon passed his car seat stress test. At first he didn't like being in there and had this look on this face like, "Mom...Dad, why would you put me in here, it seems to serve no purpose." See picture below.

Jaxon loves to be fed. Some of our funniest moments with him is when he's in our arms eating and watching his funny and awkward faces he makes. He's already very independent and prefers to hold his own bottle (see pictures below).

We'll continue to keep everyone posted on when we get to go home, however things are looking like it may be today! We'll know more soon!

Beth, Kyle and Jaxon
